Threads of Compassion

We aspire to foster empowerment and sustainability within communities, ensuring that as Flora Exports thrives, so does the well-being of the regions we touch.

Flora School: Knowledge to Nurture Futures

As we weave, manufacture and employ exquisite artisans, it is especially important to be cognisant of how we participate and impact their lives. Coming from extremely humble backgrounds, these dedicated artisans often do not have the luxury to expend time on their children’s education. The gross return on their children working on farms during the day seems to be far greater than investing time and money into their education. This unfortunate force of circumstances gives Flora Exports an opportunity to aid these families break the vicious cycle of illiteracy and poverty. Offsprings of all Flora Exports factory employees are not only encouraged, but required to attend school- whether it be at any institution. They always have the option to enroll in Flora School, all expenses paid. Every thread we produce helps fund education for all the children of our dedicated artisans, equipping them with skills and cultivating futures. Through unwavering support, we foster a spirit of entrepreneurship and learning, enabling individuals to create sustainable futures.

Eye Camps: Bringing Clarity

At these camps, we extend a helping hand to the underprivileged, offering free eye tests and scheduling surgeries for those who might otherwise never afford such essential care. Recognising the importance of preventive measures, we also provide free eye tests and prescription eyewear to ensure the long-term well-being of the community’s vision. We understand that clear vision is not just a luxury but a fundamental right, and we’re dedicated to making that right accessible to everyone free of cost. Since 2014, our bi-annual Eye Camp became a beacon of hope, never dimmed in its purpose. Unfortunately, due to regulatory constraints implemented by the state government, any form of free healthcare camp was prohibited. Nevertheless, every small act contributes to a brighter and clearer future for those in need.

Polio Camp: Strides to Wellness

In 2014, we undertook a monumental initiative — the Polio Camp, a project that drew people from every corner of the country. This initiative went beyond routine check-ups for the underprivileged; it was a commitment to providing comprehensive medical assistance to those affected by polio. After thorough polio check-ups and basic medical assessments, individuals in need of surgeries were admitted to Rohtak PGIMS Hospital, where surgeries were performed free of cost. It’s important to note that these individuals don’t have the safety net of insurance or similar provisions, making our assistance pivotal for their well-being. By offering surgeries without imposing any financial burden, we sought to bridge the gap for those who often find themselves marginalised in terms of healthcare. In the face of adversity, our support can become a catalyst for change towards a polio-free world.

Ayurveda Initiative: Healing from within

Initiated in 2004, this project is dedicated to the principles of Ayurvedic medicine. Our mission is to bring relief and healing to those grappling with health challenges such as piles, kidney stones, arthritis and chikungunya malaria. Through a distribution model, we have reached more than 29,000 patients, providing them with the benefits of Ayurvedic treatments. We’ve first-hand witnessed the transformative power of Ayurveda and embracing the ancient Indian knowledge in healthcare to enhance lives. We understand the significance of holistic healthcare, and our approach goes beyond alleviating symptoms; it aims to address the root causes of ailments, promoting overall well-being.

Flora Dispensary: Health within Reach

Since its inception in 1997, the Flora Dispensary has been a steadfast source of healthcare, offering a compassionate haven for those in need. Located within the Flora campus, our dispensary provides free-of-charge check-ups to thousands of patients. Operated by dedicated medical experts, who generously contribute half their day, the dispensary provides accessible healthcare for all. Our commitment extends beyond routine check-ups; it’s about fostering a culture of well-being and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity for timely medical care.

Beyond Threads: Empowerment through clothing essentials

In 2017, we embarked on a mission to bring warmth and comfort to those in need through the distribution of clothing and essential items such as blankets, shawls, footwear and sarees (i.e. traditional Indian women’s wear). This initiative goes beyond providing mere garments; it’s a commitment to offering a sense of dignity and care to the recipients. These essentials symbolize our dedication to ensuring that every individual has access to the comfort and cultural identity that clothing provides. At the core of our distribution lies the belief that clothing transcends mere fabric—it’s a source of protection, a shield against the elements, and a means of dressing with dignity. This is an ongoing endeavor, month after month, aimed at uplifting spirits and contributing to the overall well-being of the communities we serve.
